Is Alimony a Factor to Be Considered By the Court in Making an Equitable Distribution of Property in a Dissolution Proceeding in Florida?

No. The court may provide for equitable distribution of the marital assets and liabilities without regard to alimony for either party.

After the determination of an equitable distribution of the marital assets and liabilities, the court must then determine whether a judgment for alimony shall be made.
